” There was a land of cavaliers and cotton fields called the old south……Here in this pretty world gallantry took its last bow…..here was the last ever to be seen of knights and their ladies fair, of master and of slave….Look for it only in books, for it is no more than a dream remembered. A civilization gone with the wind……
I went to see Gone With The Wind for a special showing at Park Plaza Theaters. I’ve read the book 5 times and seen the movie 7 times. It was just as good this time around. The theater was packed with people, wine and appetizers were served. Some people came in costume, dressed as Scarlett O’hara and there was even a guest appearance by Margaret Mitchell herself! I saw some old friends and met some new friends. It was wonderful to be surrounded by people who love the movie as much as I do.
When I got home that evening, I ordered the new anniversary addition of the book. I’m looking forward to reading it again.
If you love Gone With The Wind, send me a message and tell me what your favorite part of the book is.
