Lonesome Dove

I just finished watching the epic western, Lonesome Dove.  It’s a story about Augustus “Gus” McCrae and Woodrow Call , two former Texas Rangers who decide to move cattle from the south to Montana.  I love westerns, and this is one of the best I’ve ever seen.   I fell in love with both Gus and Woodrow as I followed their struggles and triumphs on their magnificent journey.  I cried a few times too.

I am so fascinated by these people that settled the Wild West.   The cowboys were so tough and courageous, it’s hard not to admire them.  I was so enthralled by Lonesome Dove, that I’m now reading a book called, Empire Of The Summer Moon, by S.C. Gwynne.  It’s a story about Quanah Parker and the rise and fall of the Comanches.  I’m completely captivated!!
