Spring Break At The Farmer’s Market

by Dr Stacey on May 7, 2012

I took Cami to the Bluffton farmer’s market when she was home for spring break.  It was a beautiful April day .  We strolled down Calhoun Street looking at all the beautiful local fruits and vegetables.  We made our way down to the Old Town Dispensary to find Cami’s favorite Gullah Ladies and their famous macaroni and cheese.  While she enjoyed her mac and cheese, I got a big cup of Gumbo from the man stirring the big pot.  The gumbo is filled with shrimp and sausage and lots of hot sauce, just the way I like it.  Oh, I almost forgot the homemade lemonade which is delicious.  We took a little walk to the open grassy area to listen to the local guys playing and singing old time tunes, while a few shaggers danced in the grass.  On our way out, we stopped at our favorite dessert lady.  Cami got an ice cream sandwich made with homemade chocolate chip cookies and I got my peanut butter pie, frozen on a stick.  The end to a perfect afternoon in old Town Bluffton.
